February 2016 Patents

Taylor IP obtains patents for U.S. and foreign clients pertaining to many different technologies.  Below are some patents that have been prepared and/or prosecuted by Taylor IP and recently issued by the U.S. Patent Office

Patents recently issued for clients of Taylor IP:

U.S. Patent No. 9,248,845, entitled “Torque support and a bogie for a rail vehicle”, issued on February 2, 2016, is directed to a torque support for the articulated mutual support of two elements is provided, for example, a frame or a bogie on the one hand and a housing such as a final drive housing of a rail vehicle on the other hand. The torque support includes a rod, at the two ends of which one respective receiver head is arranged. The receiver head includes a bearing for accommodating a bolt which is used for support on the respective element. The rod is arranged as a sleeve at least in the region of its two ends and the bearing includes a socket which is arranged in the radial direction of the bolt between the bolt and the receiver head and is supported on the receiver head via at least one further bearing element. The socket includes a bulbous section in the manner of a universal ball joint on its outer circumference.

U.S. Patent No. 9,261,139, entitled “Friction-reducing geometric surface feature”, issued on February 16, 2016, is directed to a sealing or bearing structure for sealing or separating moving surfaces is provided. The sealing or bearing structure includes a main body that defines a body axis going through the main body. A contact surface is configured to slidingly contact another surface, such as a rod, and defines a contact axis that is parallel to the body axis. At least one geometric surface feature, such as a shaped edge, is located between the body axis and the contact axis. The geometric surface feature has an entry angle that is less than 5 degrees relative to the contact axis.

U.S. Patent No. 9,267,236, entitled “Device and method for producing a material web”, issued on February 23, 2016, is directed to a device for dewatering a fibrous web with a press zone which is formed by a mating element with a curved surface and a permeable press belt which wraps at least partially around the curved surface and has a running side and a contact side contacting a second side of the fibrous web. A permeable carrier belt arranged between the mating element and the fibrous web guides the fibrous web through the press zone. The device is configured so a fluid can flow through the press belt, the fibrous web, and the permeable carrier belt at least in a part region of the press zone. The permeable press belt is configured to generate a pressing pressure in the press zone when a tensile stress of at least 20 kN/m is applied and the contact side is adapted to a quality of the fibrous web produced.
